Issue Four - The Climactic Conclusion

Issue Four of Small Axe will be launched at Kelly's Cellars on Friday 29 September 2006 at 9pm.

All of the usual Small Axe weirdoes are invited to attend and bring friends (and money). Random bar-flies are also encouraged to come along. Admission is free but we would like you to buy a comic - a bargain at £2.20.

Issue Four will be the last issue (for now) with an upgraded page count to accommodate the flood of contributions we received. Nineteen writers and artists are featured within.

The comic will be available in all the usual outlets shortly after the launch.

Small Axe Collaborates With New Belfast

The New Belfast Community Arts Initiative recently put together a FREE comic from the poetry of various local poets and members of various community groups.

The poetry was interpreted and illustrated by local artists - notably the Small Axe crew, including Aideen Doran, Gary McKeever, Stevie McLaughlin, Stephen Downey, One Neck, Sean McGibbon, George Clarke, Miguel Martin, Fionnuala Doran, Jim McLaughlin, Richard Geddis and Alfie Gallagher.

New Belfast is hoping that this will be the first of a series of comics, showcasing the combined talents of poets and artists alike; and that the comic itself will develop and evolve as time goes on.

The comic 'Century City' was launched on 17 August 06 at The John Hewitt. It is available from Forbidden Planet in Ann Street and various other outlets and public places around the city.

Dare You Enter Issue Three?

After a long wait, the launch of Issue Three of Small Axe will be on 10 March 2006 at BX (Belfast Exposed) 42a King Street, Belfast from 7.00pm to midnight. All the fans of Small Axe are invited to attend.

The comic book will be in the usual retail outlets the following day.

Small Axe Issue Three contains the work of seventeen different deviants, most of whom will doubtless be propping up the bar on the night.

Launch of Issue Two

The second issue of Small Axe was launched on Saturday 13 August at the John Hewitt in Donegall Street, Belfast.

Issue Two of Small Axe features the work of fourteen different artists and writers.
